sold in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina on May 2, stating, “On April 29, 2025, the firm was notified via telephone by Southeast Tomato Distributors that tomatoes supplied from H&C Farms may be contaminated with salmonella.”Salmonella is a bacterial disease that can cause problems in the intestinal tract, leading to an infection that can occur through contaminated food and water, according to theNo illnesses were reported after the tomatoes were distributed from April 23—28, according to the announcement.
On May 3, Ray & Mascari Inc. recalled “4 Count Vine Ripe Tomatoes packaged in clam shell containers” due to the possibility of salmonella contamination, according to FDA’s previous announcement.“Salmonella is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems,” the company announcement read, per the FDA.
The tomatoes that were recalled were sold by Gordon Food Service Stores in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Wisconsin.

Looking back, Tomé says she was in awe watching the mural come to life, especially knowing her mom had freehanded the entire thing. While she was used to popping into her mom’s studio growing up to check on her progress, she'd never seen a full piece develop from start to finish.“Because I saw the mural unfold gradually, I didn’t feel a big shock when it was finished. I felt awe, but also a deep sense of gratitude,” Tomé says. “I don’t know how I got so lucky to have a mom who loves me so deeply that she would spend over 20 hours creating a masterpiece in my home.”
“She really enjoyed the process and looked forward to coming here, and that made me feel so good,” she continues. “Sometimes we’d sip Aperol spritzes on a Sunday evening and chat while she painted. The next morning, it would be iced coffee and more of the same. Now, when I look at the mural, I’ll always remember those little moments too.”While the project came together beautifully, it wasn’t without its challenges. Since Rolli wasn’t painting every day or working on the mural in one continuous stretch, she had to ensure the tone, texture, and energy of the piece remained consistent throughout.
